About ACKST

The Academic Center for K-History of Science and Technology at Jeonbuk National University's Korean Research Institute of Science, Technology and Civilization was established for the 'Fostering a New Wave of K-Academics Program' supported by the Academy of Korean Studies. The center is headed by Manyong Moon, the deputy director of Korean Research Institute of Science, Technology and Civilization, who serves as the research director.

Over the course of the five-year project, the Academic Center for K-History of Science and Technology will produce 25 lectures under the theme of 'The History of Science and Technology in Korea, ' covering various aspects of science and technology that have significantly influenced the development of Korean society from the pre-modern to the modern era.

These lectures will include subtitles in Korean and English, and depending on the topic, in Chinese or Russian, to widely disseminate the history of Korean science and technology worldwide. Additionally, videos introducing each lecture will be provided via YouTube, and the courses will be offered through K-MOOC. Moreover, the project will shine a new light on Korean scientific civilization through research papers written by domestic and international scholars.
